Adding signatories and sending for signature - Pacten Guides
Signatories are added in the contract editor. Open the contract and click Edit.
1
Open the Signatures tab
In the editor, open Signatures and click Add signatory.
2
Fill in each person
Choose the party (Client, Us or Third party) and enter their full name, email and job title. Add one row per person.
3
Check it is ready
The Ready to send panel tells you if the contract still needs a title or has nothing to sign, and suggests setting governing law and a start date.
4
Send it
Click Send for signature. You will see “Sent for signature” and land on the Signatures tab.
At least one signatory
Pacten will not send a contract with nobody on it to sign. If you get that message, add a signatory and send again.
Your side signs too
There is no separate countersign step. Whoever signs for your business is just another signatory, with the party set to Us. The contract is executed when the last person signs.
Frequently asked questions
- Do signers sign in order?
- No. Everyone is emailed at the same time and can sign in any order.
- How do I sign for my own company?
- Add yourself, or whoever signs for you, as a signatory with the party set to Us.
- Can I change the contract after sending?
- Yes, until someone has signed. Saving a change cancels the links already sent, so send it again afterwards.
