Adding the account money arrives in - Pacten Guides
The bank register is Pacten’s record of the accounts your business actually uses. It is what a payment is recorded into, and what reconciliation compares against a real statement.
You will find it under Finance → Bank register.
WHAT IT UNLOCKS
Three things stop being possible without one
All of them quietly, rather than with an error.
- Recording money in. A payment has to land somewhere; with no account there is nowhere to put it.
- Reconciliation. Matching what you think you received against what the bank says is a comparison between two lists — you need both.
- Knowing your position. Balances across accounts are how the dashboard answers “what have we actually got”.
One account is enough to start
Add the account most money arrives in and carry on. A second currency, a savings account or a card can be added later, and nothing already recorded has to be revisited when you do.
An account here is a record for your books. Adding it does not connect to your bank or move any money — it gives Pacten somewhere to record what you tell it.
