Approving leave - Pacten Guides

Approvals live under People → Time & Leave → Approvals. The tab carries a badge whenever requests are waiting. Approving is for People managers and admins — the same access that runs the attendance day.

1
Decide the request
Each pending row shows who, what type, the dates, the day count and their note. Approve draws the days down from their balance and notifies them. Decline… asks for an optional reason, which travels with the notification.
2
Check History for anything decided
Under the queue, History lists every decided request with full attribution — approved or declined by whom, when, with the reason. Leave that was logged on someone’s behalf carries a “logged by admin” tag naming who logged it.
3
Log leave for someone
From Directory → the person → Time off, you can record leave for staff who cannot file it themselves. Because you are the approver, it lands already approved and the balance moves immediately — unless it would overdraw their balance, in which case it waits as pending for an explicit decision.
Where requests come from
The queue only ever holds requests employees submitted themselves. Leave an approver logs goes straight to History as approved — so an empty queue with a busy History is normal, not broken.
If the queue looks wrong
A load failure shows a red banner with Retry — never a fake “nothing waiting”. If someone says they submitted and you see nothing, check History first: it may already be decided.
