Why will my Instagram not connect?

Instagram only lets tools publish to Business or Creator accounts. In the Instagram app, switch the account to professional under Settings, Account type and tools. It is free and keeps your posts and followers.

A channel is a social account that Pacten publishes to and reads comments from. You will find them under Marketing → Channels. Only a workspace owner or admin can connect, reconnect or disconnect one.

Choose the network

Press Connect a channel at the top, or pick a network under Add a channel. Each tile reads Connect, Another or SOON. The networks are Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google Business, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat and Telegram.

Pick how to connect

A panel opens with two choices. Connect it here is for when you have the account login and you are at the keyboard. Ask someone to connect it is for when a client or colleague holds the account.

Connect it here

Press Connect here. The linking page opens in a new tab and stays valid for about five minutes. Finish there, then come back. The Channels page refreshes itself.

Or ask someone

Type their email address and press Enter, or pick a colleague under In this workspace. Press Send request. They get an email from Pacten with a link that works for 24 hours. If it runs out, the button becomes Resend request.

Check the card

A connected channel shows as a card with its followers and its Published, Scheduled and Waiting counts. A status chip reads Connected, Reconnect, Disconnected or Error.

Instagram and Facebook have a condition

Instagram only works with a Business or Creator account. Facebook only works with a Page, not a personal profile. When you ask someone to connect either, Pacten asks you first and shows how to switch if the answer is no.

LOOKING AFTER A CHANNEL

Reconnect, add another, disconnect

All of it is on the channel card.

Reconnect. A card that needs it shows Reconnect and Send a request. If you have both Facebook and Instagram to reconnect, do Facebook first.
Another account on the same network. The tile reads Another. A second account needs the multiple accounts add-on. Without it the panel offers Request the add-on.
Disconnect. Scheduled posts aimed at that account will fail until it is reconnected, and Pacten asks you to confirm.
Open a channel. Press its name to see its Feed, Posts, Pacten AI and Audience tabs.
Re-check. The button at the top asks every network for its current state.

X is not available yet

The X tile reads SOON. You cannot connect it yet, so you cannot publish to it from Pacten.
