Contracts & Docs: how the pieces fit - Pacten Guides

Contracts & Docs has three rooms in its rail, in the order the work happens: Doc Hub, where a document is written; Contracts, what it becomes; and Files, where finished files live.

The path
From a draft to money in
Each step below has its own guide.
1
Write it in Doc Hub
Draft a proposal, brief or agreement in Doc Hub, or paste one in from an AI tool. Share it with a client by link while it is still being discussed.
2
Make it a contract
Promote the document to a contract, or upload a contract you already have and let Pacten read the terms out of it.
3
Add signatories and send
Add everyone who needs to sign and send it. Each person gets their own signing link by email.
4
Get paid against it
Confirm the figures and attach a payment plan. The contract then shows what you asked for, what came in and what is still owed.
Why this matters
Most tools stop at the signature. In Pacten the contract and the money sit on the same record, so you can see from the contract itself whether the client has paid what they agreed to.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I start a contract?
Contracts → New contract. You can promote a Doc Hub document, upload a contract you already have, or start writing one in Doc Hub.
Is a Doc Hub document the same as a contract?
No. A Doc Hub document is something you write and share. It becomes a contract when you promote it, and the contract is what gets signed and paid against.
Where do signed contracts live?
In Contracts. Open the contract to see its signatures, terms and the money raised against it.
