Finding your way around Marketing - Pacten Guides
Marketing is where you plan, make, publish and answer. Open it from the app launcher and you land on the Dashboard. Everything else is a row in the rail on the left.
THE RAIL
The rows, top to bottom
This is the order they appear in.
- Dashboard. What needs you today: comments to answer, what goes out today, the last 7 days and your best post this week. It has a New post button and an Open the Inbox button.
- Library. Every photo, video and file. Folders are grouped by client.
- Posts. Every post from first idea to published, as a Board, a Calendar, a Relay or a Published list.
- Doc Hub. Where briefs and strategy documents are written. It is the same Doc Hub you find in Contracts & Docs.
- Brand. Your logo, colours, voice and the facts everything else is written from.
- Create. Make an image, a caption or a short clip.
- Channels. Connect and look after your social accounts.
- Automations. Rules that answer comments for you.
- Clients and Share, under the heading Collaborate. Clients is who you work for. Share is the links you give them.
- Inbox. Comments, reviews and messages in one queue.
- Reports and Performance. The numbers.
- Broadcasts. Shown with a SOON tag in most workspaces. It opens a page about what is coming.
If a row is missing
Library, Posts, Brand, Create, Channels, Automations and Inbox come with the publishing part of Marketing. A workspace that has Marketing without publishing sees Dashboard, Doc Hub, Clients, Share, Reports and Performance. To add publishing, ask your Pacten contact. The Marketing app itself shows for owners, admins, managers and collaborators.
OLD NAMES
Where the old screens went
If a guide or a colleague uses an older word, this is the translation.
- Content Calendar, Content buckets and The Relay are now views inside Posts. A bucket is a filter on Posts, not a row of its own.
- Connected Accounts is now Channels.
- Drop is now Share.
- Quick Create is now New post.
- Setup and Publish no longer exist as headings. Brand, Posts and Channels are rows in their own right.
In a workspace that has only Marketing, Home shows three starting cards until something is connected: Connect a channel, Write your first post and Bring your team in.
Frequently asked questions
- Where is the content calendar?
- Open Marketing then Posts, and switch to the Calendar view at the top. The old Content Calendar row is now that view.
- Where did Connected Accounts go?
- It is now Channels. Open Marketing then Channels to connect, reconnect or disconnect an account.
- Where did Drop go?
- It is now called Share. Open Marketing then Share to see the links you have given clients and the files they sent back.
- Why can I not see Create, Channels or Posts?
- They belong to the publishing part of Marketing. If your workspace has Marketing without publishing, ask your Pacten contact to add it.
- Where do I write a brief?
- In Doc Hub, or from inside a post at the Brief stage. The post gives you four ways to attach one.
