Getting content and a yes from your client - Pacten Guides

A post reaches a client through the links they already have from Share. Nothing is fixed: you pick one of their links or make a new one. There are two moments, Content in and Client review. For either, the post needs to be in the client’s bucket and the client needs a contact with an email on their record.

1
Ask for the footage
At the Brief stage press Ask the client for content in the bar at the bottom. A panel opens called Ask {client} for content.
2
Pick a link
Under Their links pick one of the client’s open links, or choose A new link for this post, optionally on a folder. Press Ask for content. They get an email with the link. It opens on this post, ready for their files. Pacten tells you how many people it reached. If nobody on the link has an address, copy the link and send it yourself.
3
Collect what arrives
Footage lands under What came in at Content in. Press Content received when you have it.
4
Send the cut
At Editing press Send the cut for review. The panel is called Send to {client}. Pick a link and press Send for their verdict. They see the cut with Approve and Ask for changes. They always see the version you marked final, never the working ones.
5
Read the verdict
At Client review the verdict panel reads with {client}, approved or changes asked. Changes asked sends the post back to the editor with their notes.
WHILE YOU WAIT
What you can do on the Client review stage
All of it is on the post.
Nudge works at Client review only
On the Content in stage, Nudge them does not send anything yet. Copy their link and send it yourself.
A yes does not publish
Approval closes editing for that version. Nothing goes to a network until you schedule it. A change after approval makes the next version and reopens the stage.

Frequently asked questions

How do I ask a client for footage?
Open the post, and at the Brief stage press Ask the client for content. Pick one of the client's links or make a new one, then press Ask for content. They get an email with the link.
The client says they did not get the email. What now?
Open the post at Client review and press Copy their link, then send it yourself. Also check that the people on the link have an email address.
Can I record an approval the client gave me by phone?
Yes. At Client review press Record a verdict they gave elsewhere. It is saved as approved on their behalf, and the record says so.
What does the client see on their link?
The version you marked final, with Approve and Ask for changes. You choose the other fields they can read under What they see.
Does the client's approval publish the post?
No. It closes editing for that version. You still schedule the post.
Why does it say the client has no contact?
The post needs a client with a contact that has an email. Add them on the client's page under Marketing then Clients, then try again.
