Pacten

How to Connect Pacten to Claude and ChatGPT

Pacten works alongside Claude and ChatGPT. Connect it once, then ask about your clients, money and deadlines, or have it do the work. It sees only what you can see in Pacten, and setup takes about two minutes. Prefer pictures? Follow the step-by-step setup page.

Before you start

Connect Pacten to Claude

Add Pacten to Claude as a custom connector.

  1. Open Connectors. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Add a custom connector. Click Add, then choose Custom connector.
  3. Paste the Pacten address. Name it Pacten, paste the Pacten address, and add it. Then click Connect. The address is https://mcp.pacten.io/mcp.
  4. Sign in and allow. A Pacten page opens. Sign in with your Pacten account, check which of your workspaces Claude will reach, and choose Allow.
  5. Ask your first question. Start a new chat and ask "What's on my plate today, and what's slipping?" Claude answers only from workspaces where AI connections are on.

Good to know: Claude in the browser, the desktop app and the mobile app share the connector, so you add it once.

Good to know: If your company uses a shared Claude workspace, an admin there can add Pacten once for everyone. Each person still signs in to Pacten as themselves and sees only what their own role allows.

The same steps, with a picture of each, are on the setup page for Claude.

Connect Pacten to ChatGPT

Add Pacten as a custom MCP server from the Plugins page.

  1. Open Plugins. In ChatGPT, open the sidebar and choose Plugins.
  2. Add a custom MCP server. Click Add at the top right and choose Add custom MCP server. Skip Create plugin and Upload plugin archive: those are for building your own.
  3. Paste the Pacten address. Enter the Pacten address as the server URL and continue. The address is https://mcp.pacten.io/mcp.
  4. Sign in and allow. A Pacten page opens. Sign in with your Pacten account, check which of your workspaces ChatGPT will reach, and choose Allow.
  5. Ask your first question. Start a new chat and ask "What's on my plate today, and what's slipping?" ChatGPT answers only from workspaces where AI connections are on.

Good to know: If you don't see Add custom MCP server, your ChatGPT plan or your organisation's admin may not allow custom connectors yet.

The same steps, with a picture of each, are on the setup page for ChatGPT.

Connect another AI app

Any AI app that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in, such as Cursor, connects the same way.

  1. Add a custom MCP server. In your AI app, add a custom MCP server or connector.
  2. Paste the Pacten address. Paste the Pacten address. The address is https://mcp.pacten.io/mcp.
  3. Sign in and allow. A Pacten page opens. Sign in with your Pacten account, check which of your workspaces your app will reach, and choose Allow.

The same steps, with a picture of each, are on the setup page for Other MCP apps.

What you'll see

If it does not connect

The most common problems and their fixes are in the questions below, and on the setup page.

Frequently asked questions

It says AI connections are off for my workspace
An owner or admin turns them on in Settings › Integrations › AI assistants. You can connect before that: your AI app sees the workspace as soon as it is on. If AI connections are on but you are still left out, an admin may have turned them off for you, so ask them.
Pacten asks me to reconnect
Connections approved before 14 October 2026 can only read. To let your AI app make changes that wait for your yes, disconnect Pacten in your AI app, connect it again, and choose Allow.
It is looking at the wrong workspace
If you are in more than one workspace, name the one you mean in your question. A workspace that is missing has AI connections off. If it shows the wrong person's workspaces, you signed in with another Pacten account: disconnect and connect again with the right one.
Nothing happens after I choose Allow
Go back to your AI app: the connection finishes there, and some apps need a moment or a refresh. If the Pacten page says the request expired or was already answered, start the connection again from your AI app. If your browser blocked a pop-up, allow it and try again.
How do I disconnect?
In Pacten, open Account Settings › Integrations and click Disconnect next to the app. That ends its access at once. You can also remove Pacten in the AI app, where you added it.
