Priorities, response times and what happens next - Pacten Guides

Two things decide how quickly a request is dealt with: the priority you set, and the type you chose. This page covers both, and every state a request passes through.

PRIORITY
Four levels
Set honestly, and it works.
Watch out
Marking everything critical does not make anything faster — it removes our ability to tell what actually is. If every request is P1, the genuinely urgent one queues behind four that are not, and the person who loses is whoever raised it.
Tip
A P3 with a clear description is usually answered faster than a P1 with none, because it can be acted on immediately rather than needing a conversation first.
RESPONSE TIMES
What each type commits to
Shown on the type when you pick it.

Each request type carries its own commitment, and the Help screen shows it before you choose, not after you submit. In summary, for the help types:

The work our team does for you carries longer, separate commitments, because those are projects rather than answers. They are listed in that guide.

Tip
Response and resolution are different promises. A 4 hour response means a person is on it within 4 hours — not that it is fixed. Where a resolution target exists, it is stated separately, and where none is stated it is because the work cannot honestly be bounded in advance.
THE STATES
Where your request can be
Six, and only one needs you.
Watch out
Needs Your Input is the state to watch. It looks like an open request that is being handled, and it is not — the clock is effectively stopped until you answer. If something feels slow, check this first.
IF A COMMITMENT IS MISSED
Email support@pacten.io
The safety net, not the front door.

If a stated response time passes with no reply, email support@pacten.io with the title of your request. Raising it in the app first is still the right move — the request carries your workspace, your attachments and the whole history, so it is quicker for us to act on — but if we have not met the commitment we published, that address reaches us directly.

Raising one well
