How to resend or revoke a team invite
Every invite you have sent sits in one place — Settings → Access, under Pending invites — with two actions beside it: Resend and Revoke. Those are the only two things that can happen to an invitation after it leaves.
Why you can't just edit it
An invitation is a message that has already been sent. Changing what it grants after the fact would mean someone accepts terms nobody showed them, so the role, the labels and the app access on a pending invite are all read-only.
Resending
1
Open Settings → Access
Pending invites sit below your member list. Each row shows the role the invite carries, how many apps are set differently from that role, and when it expires.
2
Press Resend
The same invitation goes out again to the same address. Nothing is duplicated — there is still one invite — and the seven-day clock starts over from now.
3
Ask them to check spam
A resent invite lands in the same inbox that already missed one. Say it out loud rather than waiting to find out.
Revoking
Revoke cancels an invitation that has not been accepted yet. You are asked to confirm, because there is no undo: the link in their email stops working immediately and you would need to send a fresh invite.
“Already accepted”
If Revoke tells you the invite was already accepted, that person is a member now, not an invitee. Revoking does nothing to their access — remove them from the Members list instead.
When the address was wrong
You cannot correct the email on a sent invite. Do this instead:
- Revoke the invite that went to the wrong address.
- Send a new one to the correct address, with the same role and app access.
- If the wrong address belongs to a real person, tell them to ignore it — the revoked link is already dead.
Frequently asked questions
- How long does an invite last?
- Seven days from the moment it is sent. Resending restarts the seven days; it does not extend the original.
- Does resending create a second invite?
- No. There is one invitation per person per workspace, and Resend delivers that same invitation again to the same address.
- Can I change the role on an invite I already sent?
- No — a pending invite is read-only. Revoke it and send a new one with the role you want. Once they accept, you can change their role freely.
- It says the invite was already accepted. What does that mean?
- They are a member now, not an invitee. Revoking does nothing to their access; remove them from the Members list instead.
- Who is allowed to resend or revoke an invite?
- Workspace owners and admins. Managers, collaborators and viewers do not see the Pending invites controls at all.
- They never received the email. What now?
- Check spam first, confirm the address on the invite row is exactly right, then press Resend. If the address is wrong, revoke it and invite the correct one.
