Starting a new post - Pacten Guides
A post begins on the New post page, not in the composer. You give it a title and three facts, and it appears in Marketing → Posts. Press New post at the top of Posts, or on the Dashboard.
1
Give it a title
Type a title. Leave it empty and the post is called Untitled post.
2
Say who it is for
Under For, pick Ours, no client or a client’s bucket. Buckets are listed as the client’s name and the bucket name.
3
Pick the networks
Tap the networks it is for. The ones you have connected come first, with a green dot. The rest are dimmed.
4
Set when it goes out, or leave it
Under Goes out, pick a day. No date yet is fine. The post sits on the Board and stays off the Calendar until you set one.
5
Say what you have
Choose An idea to start with the brief. Choose A finished video or picture to skip the brief and go straight to editing. The button reads Start the brief or Go to editing.
The post page opens. From there it moves through its stages. See Moving a post through its stages.
Automations
The page has an Open Automations link that opens beside it. Linking a rule to a single post is not built yet.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between New post and the composer?
- New post makes the plan: a title, a client, networks and a date. The composer is where the post is actually written and sent to the networks. You reach it with Make the post at the Published stage, or from Create with Use in a post.
- Do I need a date to start a post?
- No. A post with no date sits on the Board and stays off the Calendar until you give it one.
- Can I start with a video I have already edited?
- Yes. Choose A finished video or picture. The post starts at Editing and the earlier stages are skipped.
- Why is my client not in the For list?
- The list shows client buckets. Open the client under Marketing then Clients and make a bucket under Content buckets, then start the post again.
