Deposit line vs. real deposit — Pacten Guides

A package's price, name and currency always come from Services — there's no separate field to type a different number for the website, so they can never drift out of sync. The one exception is the deposit line.

The deposit line on the card

On the Tuition section of your website editor, each package has its own deposit line — short copy like "$500 deposit to secure your seat." You type this yourself, separately from the package's real deposit amount, so it reads naturally on the page.

The real deposit

The actual amount charged lives on the package itself, back in Services → Packages. Nothing keeps the two connected — change the real deposit there, and the typed line on the website stays exactly as you wrote it until you update it too.

Note
Once this package takes payment, the card switches to showing the real deposit automatically — your typed line only matters up until then.

Where this bites

If the typed line doesn't match what the package actually charges, a checkout button will flag it for you — see Fixing a checkout warning. The fix is just keeping the two in step yourself: change the real deposit if the amount is wrong, or update the typed line if it isn't.
