Who can see prices and invoice amounts
This is the single most common access surprise in Pacten, and it is deliberate: money is a label, not a role. Making someone an admin does not let them see figures. Granting the label does.
What the label controls
Amounts, prices and financial documents stay hidden from everyone without the finance or legal label, whatever their workspace role. An owner or admin without it sees the screens but not the numbers.
Granting it
1
Open Settings → Access and click the person
The labels sit on their member page, below the workspace role and the per-app access.
2
Turn on finance or legal
Either label grants commercial visibility. Give it to the people whose job is money — your accountant, your finance lead — not to everyone.
3
Save
They will need to reload to see figures appear.
A deliberate act, not a default
The label is what stops the whole team seeing what everything costs and what everyone charges. Granting it widely defeats the point of having it.
Frequently asked questions
- Why can my accountant not see invoice amounts?
- Money is guarded by a label, not a role. Grant the finance label on their member record under Settings → Access.
- I made them an admin and they still cannot see prices.
- That is expected. Role and money are separate: an admin without the finance or legal label sees the screens but not the figures.
- What is the difference between the finance and legal labels?
- For seeing commercial and financial terms, both grant the same visibility. Use whichever describes the person's actual job.
- Does the finance label give them access to the Finance app?
- No. The label controls whether figures are visible; whether the Finance app appears at all is controlled by their role and any per-app exception.
- Who can grant the finance label?
- Workspace owners and admins, on the person's member page.
- The screen is there but completely empty.
- An empty financial screen is usually the label rather than a bug — without it the figures are withheld rather than the page being hidden.
