Save a group's structure as your new blueprint — Pacten Guides

Your workspace may call a group a Cohort, a Class, or a Trip — same features, your sector's words.

You improved things mid-flight: renamed milestones so they land better, added the task everyone actually needed, attached sharper materials. Those changes live in one group. If they should be the norm, promote them.

Where: the group's Materials tab, below the milestone list — the panel headed "Save this cohort as the programme journey." (Owners and admins only; it appears once the group has milestones.)

What it shows you first

The panel counts what this group runs — milestones, tasks, materials — against what the service currently seeds from, with + / − chips for anything that would be added to or fall off the journey. It also flags the honest edge cases before you commit:

What happens when you save

Press "Save as programme journey" and confirm. From that moment, every future group is built from this structure. Two guarantees:

Frequently asked questions

How do I save a cohort as the template for future cohorts?
Open the cohort's Materials tab and, below the milestone list, use the panel Save this cohort as the programme journey. Owners and admins only. It previews what would be added or dropped, then Save as programme journey makes every future cohort start from this structure.
Will saving change cohorts that are already running?
No. Only what future cohorts start from changes. The journey it replaces is preserved; there is no self-serve restore today, so contact support if you need the old one back.
Are due dates saved into the template?
No. The journey sets dates from each cohort's own start date. Tasks that exist for only some students are not saved either — add them at cohort level first.
